LEGO talk - Mixels

So a couple of weeks ago I was crosery shopping, when I came across some LEGO bags with some fun creatures called Mixels. There was one of them I really liked, so I decided to buy it later that week. I try not to do impulse buying, so I uselly take time thinking about things, before I buy something for myself.

This is the mixel I bought, I think its super cute. I like its colors yellow and purple together. On the bag it said it was from series 7, so I kinda feel like I have been missing something. I vaguely rember seing them around some years ago, and thinking they were cute - the name certainlly ring a bell. When im in Toys'r us I allmost allways look at the lego, and when im in other stores that sell lego I look there as well. So i really wonder why I havent seen them around in years.

So last week I had a couple of days, where I didnt feel so good. So i wanted to go to Toys'R us to get out of the apartment and to cheer myself up a litlle. I was thinking that I would allow myslef to buy a little thing, maybe a schleich figure.
While there I was pretty happy to get a look, at the new HASBRO disney princess stuff - I really like the Mulan and Pocahontas dolls.
In the end I decided that I didnt feel like, buying any schleich figures that day. But then when I looked around in the secktion, where they have small miscellaneous stuff - I saw a box of mixels.
It was full of some super cute series 6 mixels, and I was quick to grab two I thought was really cute. I thought I would just get two, since the price for twio what around the amount I had thought i would spend. But when I further looked through the box, I found that there were two more I really liked. And then my boyfriend, saw that they had more from series 7. And I did want  the rest of the yellow mixels from that series. I just knew I couldent choose just two of them.
So I try not to impulse buy, but this time I fell in with both legs.

Its really fun building the, and its  a nice thought to have some laying around for when I feel like building lego.
I kinds hope i dont stumble across more mixels that I wants, since I dont think I have room for more on my desk.

Hujoo cat update

Fall 2015 I finally got some eyes, for my two Hujoo cats. I had a hard time getting them because the first online store I ordered them through, hadent even placed the order at the manufacturer two month after I placed the order. I didnt hear annything about this from them, undtil I contacted them myself. So I decided to cancel my order, and look for some eyes on etsy. Aparently that was the best place to look, since I found many sellers that offered cat eyes in a varity of colors and to a good price.

Tapsy got some yellow eyes. I know they are wonky in this picture, but I fixed that later.

Schoko got some really pretty green eyes with a bit of yellow in them.

Then I like giving their faces a bit of color, and I think it looks really good on Schoko.

I did the same with Tapsy, and I feel like the pink color look a bit weird on him. Atleast his eyes looks better in this picture.

I tryed something different, and I think this is better.

Okay so a long time ago I decided, that I would not really buy any funiture for my dolls. The idea is that I should make it myself, or with help from my boyfriend which is verry much needed.
But then one day when we went to Ikea, I saw this doll funiture set. The set was for a childrens bedroom, and I really liked it. I thought it would be Perfect for my hujoo kitten, so I decided to get it. To be fair the cats are last in line to get handmade funiture, so its nice for them to atleast have some.

I think its verry nice, colorful and simple, even through it is made of plastic. the bed can be made longer, and the rug is reallyn nice. You can allso hang things in the closet. And it comes with that little dino plush, its so cute.

Its the perfect size for my little Hujoo cat, I think she looks verry cute in the bed or on the little chair. It really adds to the shelf where i have my dolls, the funiture makes it looks so much more cosy - and that was really needed.

In january I finally bought two more Hujoo cats

I forgot to take pictures of them right when I got them.
I bought the white Feya, whom im naming Marabou. And I bought a grey Nano Freya, im naming her salmiak. Marbou has some verry faint yellow marks on her cheek, but i decided that I will just try to paint over it.

I got them some eyes as well

Salmiak got the green/yellow eyes, that I originally bought for Schoko. It looks a bit weird in this picture, I find it hard to take good photots of them. But they do look good in real life. I have allso been painting her face, so fra im happy enought with it.

Schoko was then the one to get the new eyes, I choose some light green once for her.

Marabou got some really ppretty light green eyes, I think they suit her verry well. i need to start painting her soon, then it will look even better.

My cat family is coming together nicely. Now im only missing one member of the family, and that is a little white kitty who is gonna be the son/brother of the family.

LEGO talk - Change is good

So I packed away my LEGO Belville, not that long ago. It was a difficult decition to make, since it means so much to me. Buying my childhood lego, was what got me into toys as an adult. But I have felt like I couldent desplay it properly, and that it was difficult to do what I wanted with it. My shelving didnt work for it, and I dont have room for something that would work better. I havent bought any Belville for a verry long time, and what I allready had didnt get the attention it deserved - and I felt bad about it.
I had trouble finding enough space, for my growing doll collection. I knew I could get more space if I packed away my lego, but I kept insisting that it was not what I wanted.
But in the end I knew I would get more out of the space, if I packed away the lego and turned the shlefs into doll rooms.
I had 5 shelfs with lego, one of them being the top shelf with boxes of lego, I didnt use at that point. So i thought that it might be difficult to pack it all away, but it was actually easy enough. I think it might be beause Belville, contains alot of big pieces. My lego is now on two shelfs, the top and bottom. I removed the middle shlef because, my dolls are a bigger scale. So i now have two free shelfs for my Paola Reina dolls, one of them is gonna be a bedroom and the other a playroom. My Hujoo cats got the Paola Reinas old shelf. And im prettyy happy with that.
And im looking forward to the day, where I have room for a big table, where I can build a little Belville town.

I have still bought a little lego, after I stopped buying Belville.

Im not really into the traditonal lego minifigures (if I where I would totally collect them), but this little guy is speciel to me. The chracter he portrays, is a daniah royal guard who is the mascot for a danish toy store chain. Its a store I have fond childhood memeories from. what I remember most is visiting my granparent during the summer, my brother and I would allways get some vacation money, and we spend them in the nearby toy store.
A store in this chain was allso the first place, I bought a lego Belville set as an adult - shortly before it was discontinued.

I discovered this little guy when I was working temporary in the toy, store close to where I live. I enjoyed working with toys, but im really not sure if reatail is for me. Annyways he cough my eyes, so I had to bring him home. - and he got a nice place on my desk.

Last year in april, I went to lego land here in Denmark with my boyfriend. I had decided beforehand that I wanted a speciel souvenir, from the lego store there. But offcors I had allso decided how much I could spend on it, so some of the sets I liked was way too exspensive. Some where super cool, but didnt speak to me or fit with what I had in mind. I thought I might want to get some pick a brick lego, but I actually didnt know what bricks I wanted.

I ended up buying this "visiting LEGOLAND" set, because I thought it was fun, cute and the price was reasonable. It allso remind me of when I went to LEGOLAND, with my family as a kid. And there were a perfect spot on my desk, where I could put it.

Half a year later, I started missing building lego. I would have bought more lego Belville and build that, but there were no room on my shelfs for it.
Instead I had been eyeing some of the creator sets, those with animals.

So when one of the stores I shop in, had a huge sale on all lego - I gave in a bought my favorite creator set. I allso bought a box of mixed bricks that I hope will come in handy, one day in the future. Annyways I offcors bought eth set with the frogs, since I love frogs. I allso like the pretty parrot, and the cute fly in the set. Those allso ended up on my desk, lego is taking over my deask - I had to move some of my glass frogs but im totally fine with that.
I actually tryed to put these on my nightstand, but that didnt feel right. And I do love having toys on my desk.

I found this cute saber tooth, in a bin full of small lego sets in bags. I really like this concept, and I hope they come out with more animals.

So thats my small non Belville lego collection. But I am considering exspanding, with the creator set with the cat and mouse.

Newfound Barbie love

Its not that I dont like barbie, I have fond memories of playing withe Barbie, dolls when I was a kid.
But when I decided to collect dolls as an adult, I knew barbie wasn't the doll for me.
I didnt like most of the clothe, that Barbie dolls were wearing. I found the array of mini dresses/skirts and pink to be boring. I didnt like that Barbie had arched feets, and allmost only wore high heels.
I dont really like the open mouth/showing teeth smile, I really pefer dolls with closed mouths, And I felt like she was wearing too much makeup, I thought her eyes looked too heavy.

when the style dolls came out, I was positively surprised. These dolls are nicely articulated, but allso have interestig and diverse outfits. I started to feel tempted since I really lieked some of those outfits, but their lack of ankel joint and the faces still weren't too appealing to me.
But then some of the style dolls got ankel joints, and some of the new Fashionistas have flat feet.
Those Fashionista dolls allso have softer faces, and they are verry diverse. But they really dont have that many joints, they dont even have the click knees.

But then I saw picture of some new dolls for november 2015. There was this new line called "made to move" and it include 3 new dolls with 18 points of articulation. Here is where I saw it the news.
I was blown away with how flexible these dolls look, and I like their clothes - they look like yoga outfits.
Somehow these dolls remind me, of my favorite barbie that I had as a child. Its was working out barbie, with her felxible wire and rubber body.

I know that I would want to collect them, so I thought alot about it. I wondered if I have space for new dolls, and if the buget can handle it. At first I kinda felt that I shouldent start a new collection.
But the thing is, there is not that many dolls that I really wanna collect. And I think I can make some space for them, since I packed away my LEGO.

So I decided that im gonna get these dolls, and im really looking forward to when they show up in Danish stores.

Schleich Bayala

I have been interested in the Schleich figures, since I startede shopping in toy stores as an adult.
I really like their realistic looking animal figures, I never wanted to actively collect them though. I think they looks great and I like the big selection, but they dont really inspire me. I did howevr buy some a few years ago.

I couldent resit the frog, since frogs are my favorite animal, and I colect different frog figures. The parakeet and guinea pig was bought to be liv dolls pet, but im afriad the parakeet is too big in scale.

These little guys was a more recent purchase, I think I bought them in october. I absolutely love this set, I think they look so awsome. And I love the blue poison dart frog, as it is one of my favorite frogs.

So my collection of Schleich animal have been quite small, and I dont plan on adding more besides  frogs and potentiel doll pets.
BUT
The Schleich Bayala figures have really caught my attention. I love fantsy, and the bayala world seems so magical. I have been wanting to collect these figures, they do inspire me. But I have been holding off, because I didnt feel like starting a new collection, and I didnt know where I would put them annyways.

Then last year around ocktober/november I decided that this year I would buy advent calendar with toys. I have been looking at the lego advent calendars, for a couple of years. But in the end I decided against buying a lego one. My reason for that is that I dont think annything in the calendar, would fit with my lego Belville collection. I will not start collecting Lego friends or city, my current Lego collection dont even have the space and attention it deserves.
After looking at all the other advent calendars, I knew that the one I wanted the most was the Schleich Bayala one. I told my boyfriend this, and said to him that if I did buy this calendar I would start collecting. My boyfriend said he thought that was fine, and that he was sure we could find a place for the figures since they are small.
So with that in mind I bought two Bayala fantasy animals, and later I bought the Calendar.

Im not going to talk too muchabout the calendar, because what I wanna talk about is the shelf.
While opening eth calendar during december, my boyfriend and I talked about finding a shelf. We had made some space on a wall, but still needed to find some shelves. We live near an Ikea, so we went there to get ideas. We looked at some of their small glass cabinets, but I werent sure I liked those. We allso talked about putting up some small wood shelves, but I think those at Ikea was too big.
On our way out we stopped by the area, where they have damaged stuff for cheap. There were this funiture that cought my eyes, it had a pretty wood frame and glass shelves - and it was the perfect size. On the note it said it was missing a door, a shelf and had a few scratches. The scratch didnt bother me, but the missing shelf did. - and my boyfriend said it would be too difficult to make a new one. He actually found out that the funiture was a bathroom cabinet. So we went looking at the new thing, but it was way too exspensive, and I didnt like it with the door.
We allmost left the store after that, but I felt like I couldent let the funiture go and then insisted that we bought it.

And im verry happy that I did, because its perfect!!
I was so exited that I rushed out and bought two more figures, so it wouldent look too empty. Im really looking forward to getting even more figures, and setting up small scenes for each shelf.
My Zelf fit perfect on one of the glass shelves as well, they have actually been needing a better place to stay,so I was happy to give them one shlef.

I have been looking alot at Schleich online, and I made myself a wishlist of the figures I want the most. The wishlist is actually not verry long, since I only put on the figures I wanted the most, and that I felt would fit in with the scenes that I have in mind.

Im just really excited, and I hope to fill out the shelves soon.

Name change

I decided to change the name of my blog.
This is something I have thought about, for quite a while now.
When I thought about making a blog, I found it hard to come up with my name. But since I was only collecting Liv dolls at the time, I decided to make the name about that. But now I collect two other kinds of dolls, and I would like to talk more about lego on the blog. So I felt like a name that suggest the blog is about liv dolls, wasn't right for me. Well yeah its about liv dolls, but I want it to be about so much more.
But comming up with a new name, seemed way too hard. I even asked my boyfriend for suggestions, and I normally dont ask him for name suggestions because he uselly just say something stupid. He didnt this time, but he said he didnt think a name change twas necessary. So i decided to let it go.

Undtil today where I randomly got the idea, while cleaning. Well I was actually thinking about the blog and doll collecting when he idea hit. Im a child at heart, I play with my dolls and I love toys in general - So I thought the name A playful heart was perfect.
I made a google search, to see if any others had a blog with the same name. I found some with a similiair name, but not the excat same.

A playful heart is the new name for my blog, and im pretty happy with it.

More Paola Reina

My small Paola Reina collection have been growing, and so has my love for these dolls.

As my third doll, I wanted a girl who could be big sister to my emma. I have a rule that I cant have two dolls, with teh exact same coloring. But luckily for me they made teh readhead girl Cristi, with both blue and green eyes. I found a green eyed girls , with straight hair and side part. I thought she would be perfect as Emmas sister.

They dont have her in my local toy store, where i bought my first two dolls. I asked them if they could order her home for me, unfortunately they couldent.
I had seen the doll for sale on an english doll shop online, so I decided to order her from there. But it turned out that they didnt have her in stock anymore.
But then I finally found the doll use on ebay, on the pictures it looked like she was in perfect condition and she even came with an extra outfit.

This is the girl I bought, she was in her original clothes and everything. I think her dress is a little weird but I love the color and pattern. The pretty purple color loooks really good, with her red hair and green eyes. I dont think her shoes goes well with the dress at all, they dont go with any Paola Reina outfit I have seen.

I think this dress looks better, with the simple black flats.

She has cute a realistic looking freckles.

Her hair is so beautiful, I like how the style make her look more mature. I decide to call her Amalie.

She really does look like and older sister to Emma, so im super happy with my choice.

Nina shows off the other outfit, that Amalie came with. I like the soft colors, and how cosy ot loooks. But I feel like its hard for the shirt to stay in place, since it dosent close with velcro,  its wrapped around and held in plavce by the skirt.

I braided her hair by the way, to see if I could give it a bit of curl. I just let the braid sit for a couple of weeks, before I took them out.

It did give her hair a bit of wave in the front, and it suits her. But for some reason her hair is really straight in the back, I did braid all of her hair so I find that really weird. Im thinking that dipping her hair in hot water, would get a better result all around.

Since Amalie was hugging the black flats, I bought these black sneakers for Emma. These are verry nice, adn I wish they had the sneakers in more colors. I think they might have them in pink as well, but I want them in more colors than two.

I wanted my next doll to have short hair, and I had seen a version of the blonde blue eyed girl with short hair. But somtimes I was unsure if I really wanted her.
I knew I wanted a doll who had honey blonde hair, brown eyes and freckles. I peffered her with long wavy hair and bangs, but I didnt really want another doll with bangs. And I couldent find her with the short hairstyles.
The thing is that I was interested in these two dolls, but I though I would peffer to have only one blonde girl for my group.
I had allmost decided to buy the girl with the short blonde hair and blue eyes. But then I found a solution, on an European online shop that sells Paola Reina dolls. They had a doll speciel for thier shop, who had short honey blonde hair, light brown eyes and freckles. So offcors I ordered her.

She was only available without clothes, but I thought that was totally fine. I really like her hairstyle, its just what I wanted.

She has a beautiful face just like the other Paola Reina dolls. I just really love her coloring with those freckles. I named her Lisa, because she remind me of Lisa from the simpsons.

I was surprised to find out, that she is taller that my other girls. But i think I like it, she looks more different that way. But I allso found out that her feets are a bit bigger, and this kinda annoys me. Normally the shoes fit the dolls feets perfectly, so they are harder to get on her. And she cant wear leggins and shoes at the same time - bummer.

She looks cute in the pink and red summer dress

I wanted to buy some new clothes, for my cute new doll. On the facebook page for my local toy store, they wrote that they had gotten new Paola Reina things. So I was really excited to see, what they had gotten of new stuff. My boyfriend went with me to the store, and he said he would buy me one outfit as a gift. I liked all of the new clothe they had gotten, so I told my boyfriend that it would be hard to  choose just one. He said he would get me two then, he is so seet and awsome.

This is the first outfit I choose,  and I really love this dress. I like the pattern, how the skirt is layered, the long sleves, and how nice all the colors look together. I really like that it comes with a brown vest, that you can take on and off as you like. I think this dress looks verry good on Amalie.

I choose this outfit because, I really liked the colors. The lavender cardigan and hat is super cute, and so is the flower print boluse. I think hse looks really good with a hat on. Unfortunately I dont have any shoes that looks good with this outfit, I should have bought some in he store but i totally forgot.

I dont really like the tights under shorts look, so I pefer the outfit this way - even though it looks a littele bit cold.

I allso wanted to share this cute picture of Amalie and Nina, they are best friends.
