A quick update

I took a break from blogging, because I was busy getting ready for exams. But it is now two and a half month since I finished my last exam, and far too long since I have been blogging. I think taking a break from blogging is totally fine and reasonable, but it has been bothering me a lot that I have not been able to get back into blogging. I feel like I have been letting down my hobby, which I hate, because I really do love my dolls. 

I will try to get back into blogging, starting off with a quick update so I don't have to plan out seperate post for everything that have been going on. I do have a few focused post coming up though. 

New Paola Reina outfits

The other one, painted yellow and green, went to my Hujoo kittens, who I hope to include more on the blog in the future. I will probably repaint it a one point, since I am planning on getting the kittens some new furniture.

The made to move redhead, the last one I wanted from the original line. I love her! her hair is wonderfully soft and beautiful. 

Her face is cute, I was worried that I would find it plain, but I think she has personallity in her own way. I don't' like how her freckles look though.

Oversized barbie clothes

I recently bought two Barbie dresses

I wanted this dress because of teh beautiful flower pattern, and I like the reddish pink color (the colkor is more pinmk in real life). I thought this dress would be perfect for my liv doll Rose. 

I thought thid dress looked interesting, even thought I coulden't see the siloette of it. I thought it would be a nice dress for my Barbie doll Kira.

The dress has a very nice simple yet elegant silhouette, and suits my dolls style. But the fit isin't very good, the dress is baggy even through it looks like a dress that should be tight fitting. 

I used a belt to make the dress fit better, and I think it looks great. I like the brown belt more than the pink belt on the dress. 

The pink/red dress looks adorable on Rose, but again, the fit is not all that great. The dress is loose around her wait, but I think I can live with that, epsecially since I have no belt that match it. The bodice of the dress is super soft and the print is very detailed, but the skirt is a littel more stiff than I like - the print is still great though. 

The pattern opn the bodice does not continue all the way around to the back, the material is allso differnt, more shiny and stiff. I don't mind that the pattern is not on the back of the bodice, since it is on the skirt, but I don't like the change of material. 

I know these dresses are bigger than usul because they have to be able to fit all of the barbie body types, includeing the curvy one. But this more universal fit makes it difficult for me to figure out excatly what clothes will be a good fit for my dolls. I will be especially difficult finding clothe for my liv dolls, since they are a bit thinner than the orignal barbie body is these days. 

Funko Rock Candy: Game Of Thrones Daenerys

Normally I do not collect merchandise, but I am a huge fan of both the Game of thrones tv series, and teh book series + a few other books about that world. Therefore Game of thrones are one of the few franchises, I would collect merchandise for. So far there have not been any figure that I wanted, I do not like the style of the Funko pops and mystery minies, and the more realistic figures didn't really appeal to me since I wanted a figure of thge character, not the actor playing the character onm the show. 

But then Funko released these Rock Candy figures, and I instally wanted Daenerys. I like the Rock Candy figures because they are not as stylistic as the Pop figures, so the figure can better reflect the character, yet they have a lovely cartoonish style. 

There is only Daenerys and Brienne in this series so fart, but I really hope they will release more characters. While I love Brienne as a Character, I don't really like the figure of her, which is mainly because of the color of her armor. I don't like how dark the black armor make steh figure, and I would have preferred if she was made with her golden armor instead

. 

Daenerys was made with her Dothraki outfit, which I like, the details on the outfit is great. She allso has her dragton Drgon on her arm, I love that, and Drogon looks very cute. Her hair color is great, while Targaryans are often shown to have silver hair, Daenerys hair is describes as being silver gold, so this platinum blonde color is pretty accurate. One thing I am not too fond of, is her blue eyes, Daenerys is suppose to have violet eyes, the only reason she doesn't on the show is because the colored contact linses didn't work out for the actor. 

I really like her braids on the back of her head. Daenerys can't actually stand up on her own, which made me pretty dissapointed, shoulden't she come with a stand then? she even have holes in the buttom of her feet, which makes it looks like she could fit a stand. 

I acvtually ended up painting her eyes violet, and I am prettyy happy with the result. I am allmost tempted to paint her eyebrows as well, since that brown color seems a bit dartk for her lighjt hair, but I don't think I will bother with it. 

I found a place for her on one of my shelfs, I really hope they make more of these figures, so I can have a small collection. 

Snow pictures 2018

It was my intentiopns to share these pictures earlier, but this year I was lucky to wake up to a snow covered landscape severel mornings - some days it melted pretty quickly though. I decided to take one of my paola Reina dolls out in the snow to take a few pictures, the pictures was taken two differnt days in february.

Now I am really looking forward to spring, I hope nature will wake up soon, I need to see some green leaves on the trees and bushes. 

Doll news and wishlist update

The beginning of the year bring alot of toy news, and I have been looking for dolls to add to my wishlist. 

This guy is my first candidate, he is Barbie Jurassic world Owen.

I do not have any ken dolls in my collection, since I like very few ken dolls these days. But I would like to change that. I was considering waiting and see if ken would get a made to move body, but I am starting to think that it is better to give my gals some male company, than to wait for something that might not happend. This guy atleast has elbow, wrist, knee and probally allso ankel joints + synthetic hair rather than molded. His face is great, I love the stubbles, and his serious expression. I am not too fond of his hairstyle, but the color is great and two toned. I allso really like his outfit, it is simple and therefore very usable, but the vest and teh boots gives it its own adventure vibe. 

Barbie hunger games, Mockingjay Peeta.

This guy is not new at all, but if I get Owen, I would not want him to be totally alone with the ladies.

I have considered getting this Peeta doll before, it would have to be this version, because I lik his hair the best, but he is a bit difficult for me to find. 

Barbie Divergent four

I am allso considering him, since he is allso a pretty great looking guy. He has a very similiair coloring to peeta, but their expressions are quite different, so it might be okay for me to have both. He is easier to find than Peeta, so I might actually get him first. 

I was very exited to see another curvy made to move, and this girl is very beautiful with wavy honeyblonde hair and hazel eyes. But I am a bit dissapointed that she has a smile where she shows teeth, since I am not very fond of that. All the latest made to move dolls have had a tooth smile. 

Paola Reina Las amiga, Carol teacher.

This had me really excited! I have been wanting a Paola Reina doll with brown eyes and long straight brown hair with middle part. I had only found one doll that was excatly what I wanted, but she was an older doll, and only got harder to find with time. But this year they are going to realese a doll, who is what I have been looking for. Her hair is not excatly like the first one I found, but I actually think it might be better, I really lik the way her hair is pulled back. Her outfit is allso super cute, one of my currents dolls would love to wear it. 

Udating my wishlist I can see that there are a lot of dolls I would like to get this year, I hope I have the money to atleast get some of them. 

New liv doll - Its my nature Katie

A couple of weeks ago, I received a new doll I bought. Yes I actually bought a new doll! and I was so exited.

Katie was the last doll I was missing, from my favorite Liv doill series: Its my nature.

I was lucky to find her on Ebay, from an european seller, at an good enough price. 

The picture on the front flap of the box is beautiful, and it allmost looks like the doll, I think it is mostley the lips and the earings that look alot different than on the actual doll. 

I love the dolls from the Its my nature series, because they have some interresting outfits, with multiple layers and some nice accessories. Katie here has 5 pices of clothing + shoes, and 5 accessories (If some of them are counted as a pair)

I really like how the box is full of picture showing the dolls doing all shorts of fun things together, accompanied of text telling about their adventures in nature. I used to cut out these pictures, but I never used them for annything, so I threw my cutouts away and stopped cutting up the boxes. 

Katies looks great wearing the full outfit, I like the yellow with the purple. The outfit consist of a bright yellow top, simple jean shorts, a dark grey hoodie with a purple and silver pattern, white and black striped tights, dark blue boots and a purple knit hat. It ias an outfit that work great for fall and spring, or maybe even mild winters. The different pieces of clothing is allso great to mix and match to make new outfits - which I intend to do.

Katie allso comes with a purple twist skateboard, knee and elbnow pads and a purple helmet. I think the twist board seems like a fun accesory, but I don't know which of my dolls will get it. I am actually more exited about the safety gear. 

I am a safety first kind of gal. I am sure that I will get some use for that helmet, since I would like to get my dolls a bike, and the pads can be used by both Liv and Barbie dolls.

The helmet can be tightened with the fabric that mnakes the strap. The pads tightneds with ridges in the plastic, where they are fastened - they each have 3 ridges.

When it comes to accessories, I am allso pretty fond of her purple earrings. It is not eawsy to see that they are shaped like safety pins, but they are, and I think that is pretty cute + I don't have any purple earrings for my dolls. 

While I would have loved it if the tights were yellow or purple, I do think it is nice taght they are neutral, so they can go with alot of different oputfits, I think my dolls will have to share them for now. I am sllso glad that they go past the knees, the tights that My nature Hayden wore, wn'ent above the knee, and I did not like that.

While I like the simple jean shorts, they don't actually fit properlly, I love Liv doll pants and shorts, and its a shame when they don't fit. Luckily they don't fall down, so a long top or shirt, will hide this issue. 

Finally a closer look at the dolls beautiful face. She has peachy pink lips, and simple brown eye makeup, which gives her a natural look that I really like. While I think the emerald green eyes are pretty, I don't think that they look very natural, therefore I try not to use dolls with these eyes. I don't have a plan for her currently, but I hope that she might get a charcater to play soem day, and then I might change her eyes. 

Leia got the yellow top and shorts, for a elegant and fresh summer look. 

The hat, hoodie and boots went to Emily, so she can be ready for the cold autumn winds. She may have to give som,e of it up, if someone else wants it, but for now I though it suited her. This picture shows the pattern on teh hoodie a bit better, and reminds me that I need to repaint Emilys lips again.

Shina got the earrings, since purple is totally her color, they m,atch her beautiful dress, and I think she would like the safety pin design.

While I was so exited to get this doll, I started to ahve my doubht about her, since I didn't seem interested in taking pictures of her or play with her - I yet again had teh thought that I don't really apreciate my dolls. But when I did start taking pictures, I started to feel inspired, and I began to dress and play with some fo my liv dolls, which made me quite happy. This month I am not going to buy annything new for my dolls, but I started looking into what to buy next month, it is my birthday that month so I might buy more than just one thing - if my bank accout is not suffering. 

A couple of chairs

September last year I found some metal miniature chairs in a store, that has all kinds of cheap nick knack. I immediately recognized that the chairs were Barbie size, and I was really happy about my find, and decided to give one of these chairs a try.
In Denmark it is close to impossible to find Barbie sized furniture, unless it is plastic furniture, which I don't really like. All the doll furniture I find in stores and online are either 1:12 scale or for 45 cm dolls. If I want decent wood furniture for Barbie sized dolls, I would have to buy from another country, and in that case i prefer to either make my dolls furniture myself, or have my boyfriend make it for me. But it is not that often we get around to make the wooden doll furniture I love, my liv dolls and Paola Reinas are those I focus on when making furniture, Therefore my Barbie dolls and cat dolls (Hujoo Freyas) are mostley without furniture. My Barbie dolls actually had nothing at all, they were just sitting on and dresser I had tried out fot my Liv dolls. 

The chairs were in 3 colors, light blue, pink and seafoam green, I bought the green one. 

This chair is not really my style, I don't like decorative metal things all that much, the color is a weird shade of green, and the shape of the chair looks a bit weird to me. But the chair is sturdy and well made, it is the right size, and it was very cheap, it only cost 20 dkr. 

While I was pretty sure that the chair was teh right size, I was happy to see that the chair is the PERFECT size for my Barbie dolls. I was starting to like the sesfoam green color a bit better, since it matches some of my dolls pastel colored outfits. And so I decided to get a second chair.

I bought a light blue chair, which I think looks nice besides the green one. Im a very happy to have thoose chairs for my Barbie dolls, and I did consider getting a third one, but at that timne they were out.

While I did not really lik the look of the chairs in the begging, I must admit that I now like their pastel coloring, and I am beginng to think metal doll furniture has a certain charm, even thought I still prefer wooden furniture.
