Recap of 2016 and plans for 2017

2016 brought me alot of doll excitment.



I bought my first collector doll, who is a Tonner doll. This was a pretty big deal for me. as I do not have much room (to display properly) or money for such dolls.
But as I really wanted this guy (the deja vu viking) I allowed myself to open up for the possibility of having collectors dolls. 
In 2017 I plan to buy another Tonner Deja vu doll, to keep my guy company.






In 2016 I started to collect barbie dolls, because I fell in love with the new made to move dolls. I am really happy about these dolls, and it is allways exciting to start a new collection.
I had kind of wanted to collect Barbie dolls, but I did not really like any of the dolls that were out at the time. The Made to move dolls are excatly what I hoped for.
Currently I have 3 of the dolls on my Wishlist, and my plan is to buy Orange top next.  

In 2016 I finished a room for my Paola Reina dolls, and I am really happy aboput that. I hope to finish more doll rooms next year, but it is a slow progress for me so it might not happend. 
I plan on buying a new bookcase, so I can move some things around. It is just a small bookcae, but I plan on putting my liv doll wigs on there, my awsome Lego car and my Hujoo cats. This will clear some space for doll rooms on the big shelfs. 



In 2016 I bought 7 dolls. I bought two hujoo cats, one  liv doll, tree Barbie dolls and that one Tonner doll. It was in my plans, to buy a Paola Reina doll this fall. But I did not feel like it, as I felt like it was an exhausting thing to do, and I was more excited for the Barbie dolls. 
But I still want that Paola Reina doll, and my Barbie cravings are under control now, because I got one in december. Therefore the first doll I am going to buy in 2017 is a Paola reina doll, more specific it is gonna be a Liu one. 
I allso hope to buy yet another liv doll in 2017. Since 2015 I really slowed down when it comes to buying liv dolls, but that is because I got the dolls I need to bring my characters to life. There are still a few dolls I want, but I am in no hurry to get them. If I just get one Liv doll in 2017, then I will be happy.
 And there is that Tonner doll I want, I am eying the Deja vu Lady Arabella dolls, and I hope to buy one with birthday money in March or April. Offcors I plan to buy the 3 Barbie dolls on my wishlist, I have even seen orange top in a Danish store. 
So yeah that is 6 dolls I plan to buy in 2017, but it might end up being more. I am excited to see what else will happend, maybe I will even start a new collection ;)

Wooden furniture

A couple of weeks ago I found some small wooden furniture while I was out grocery shopping. They were being sold as christmas decorations, but of course I thought they would be perfect as doll furniture.

I choose this bench and table, there were allso a crib and a wooden play horse, but I could not see any use for them. The furniture are pretty small, around 1:12 scale, so I knew that my 12 inch dolls could not fit on the bench. But I was sure that my smallest dolls could, which are my Hujoo kittens. 

As i suspected the Hujoo kittens, fit on the bench perfectly. They allready have a chair, but I think it's nice that they now have more seating options. I considered paying thios bench bright yellow, to fit in with the bright plastic furniture these dolls allready have. But I actually really like the wood look, and my boyfriend suggested that we could oil it, and I really like that idea. 

One of my kittens is wearing a Barbie Chelsea outfit. I bought a Chelsea doll for half the price, becaseu I knew there were a chance the outfit would fit my kittens. It does fit, but my doll cant sit down in this one, a dress would have been better, but they had none left in the dress that I liked. The straps are allso a little annoying because they get stuck in the joionts. 

But back to the furniture.

The table was a little tto tall for my hujoo kittens, it could have worked for my adult Hujjo ctas. But I decided to give it to my liv dolls to use as an end table. I actually ended up putting it next to the bed in my liv doll room, it works well as a night table. 
I considered paiting it white, but then again I really like that wood look. 

I really love when I find stuff like this for my dolls, it is uselly cheaper than buying furniture and accessories made for dolls. So i will keep looking for doll sized tressures.

Paola Reina bedroom

Yesterday I finished the bedroom, that I was making for my Paola Reina dolls. I was verry happy that I was finallyn done and content with the result. I have been working on it for a long time, and the progress have been slow.

The room was made on a cheap shelf without sides, so I found some cheap leftover wood in a store and my boyfrtiend made it into walls. We allso used a cheap blanket for a carpet. The only furniture at this point was a small dresser from a crafts store, that I had painted green and purple. And two pillows that I had made for my dolls to sit on. 

Then my wonderful boyfriend made me a great clothing rack for myd dolls, because I really needed a place to put their clothes. Now I could hang their dresses on the clothing rack, and I was storing underwear, stockings and headbands in the dresser. 

I had asked my boyfriend to make a bed for my dolls, but we didnt really have that many options. Until we were out looking at toys, and my boyfriend found a verry cheap dolls bed. The bed were a pink princess bed for 50 cm dolls, but my boyfriend said that he could make it shorter. And so he did, he made it shorter both in lenght and it height, so now it fits my small dolls much better.
After my boyfriend had modified the bed, I had to paint it so it could looks nice again. It would have been obvious to paint it white, except that the walls and carpet are white so white furniture would just blend in. I decided that I would choose a theme, I wanted something girly and cute but I did not want it to be pink princess themed. I decided on a fairy theme, so I painted the bed lavendar, and I decided to paint the clothing rack to match. 

But now the dresser didn't match, and I started to think I might look better in a play room.
Oh and I had found this small fake plant, to put on top of the dresser. 

I quess I could just have repainted the dresser, but I allso wanted a something that looked diffrent. I had a hard time finding what I wanted in stores, but then I found the perfect little dresser in an online craft store. I knew I coulden't just paint this dresser the same color as the other furniture, that would be too much purple. I was torn between light blue and light green. I ended up decided on the latter, and im pretty happy with how that turned out. I think this dresser are super cute with those white pearl knobs, and everything fit nicely into it. 

The finishing touch was decoratimng the walls with fairy stickers from my schleich bayala advent calendar. I have been thinking about making them new bedding, but I dont feel like sewing. Right now they are just useing what originally came with the bed, and I think that is fine. 

So the room is finished!! and im pretty happy about it. My dolls seems to like it too, they look great in this room and I think it really look like a little girls bedroom. 

A few new things

I have not had verry much mental energi. for my dolls lately. They havent gotten that much attention, but offcors I had to get them a few new things annyways. 
These first things is actually something I got them this august.

I have not wanted any of these accesory packs before, because I thought they coudlent be of much use to my Liv dolls. But after I had gotten  my Barbie dolls, I atarted thinking that thse packs are prettyy nice, since they come with two pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I choose this one because i like the gold sandals and because I like the purple color. 

I still really lilke those golden sandals, I allready iused them on my doll Kira. But im not sure taht I will get much use out of teh other utems, since I dont like the purple shoes and the necklace. I like the purple bracelet, but right now it dosent match any of my dolls outfits. I allso dont see m yself useing that bag, its a really nice bag but I dont really use bags with my dolls. 

I went to a store I dont uselly go to with my botfriend, I was hoping to find some tressures that I acnt find in toys r us. And so I did, I found the two pretty dresses for a verry nice price. I havent liked any of the single fashion that I had seen so far, so I was happily surprised to find some that I liked. 

I really like the rose print on this dress, it goes all the way around, and I even like how the light blue color looks with black. Kira looks great in this dress, and im verry happy that she got some more clothes . Im not too happy about the silver waistband though, I think it would look less jarring if it was black. 

I gave the other dress to Shina, since I though that the purple would look great on her. I like the checkered pattern, but Im not sure it really fits her and I think it might be too much. Maybe the skirt should have been a solid color instead so only the bodice was patterned. 

Last week I was in toys r us, and saw that they has new Barbie fashion packs. I was super happy since it has been quite a while, since they have had any of those. I choose this pack because I really like that yellow blouse with the pretty red vest, and that cream colored dress looked verry elegant. I liked that tghe new packs are in thick plastic bags, instead of thick plastic shells. But there used to be a pcture on the back, of dolls wearing the clothes, i miss that. 

I put the cream dress on Leia, and im verry happy that it suits her, since I have had trouble figuring out what clothes was right for her. Nia got the otehr outfit, and its perfect for her, I really like it. But I was a little dissapointed, that the pattern on the vest dosent contiue onto the back. 
Oh and I got Leia a pretty schleich cat. i couldn't find it in any store, but i was lucky that I could find it online, since it had to be THAT cat. 

Michelle got the pink boots that came with the fashion pack, they match her fall outfit. It is a shame that leia cant fit into them, since she liked them and they looked great with the dress. 

That is all the things my dolls have gotten lately, hopefully there will be more soon. Im hoping to finish a project with my Paola Reina dolls in the near future.

Fist outdoor pictures of my Barbies

I wanted to take some outdoor photos of my Barbie dolls this summer, I had even gotten Kira the right outfit. I did end up taking some photos, but it was september, before I got around to do it. 
Im not totally happy with them, but here they are.

I found this nice mossy green rock, to pose Michelle on, and I found her an acorn to hold. I like how she looks in this picture, but I think the colors are kinda off.  

The colors are better in this one of Kira, and she looks super cute. But the brown background ruins it a bit.

Im happy with this one. Kira looks like, she just threw herself gaimnst the tree. Michelle looks facinated, and I like how the sun touches her legs. 

Im pretty happy witgh this one as well, I thin k hse looks great sitting in the tree.

But this one, im unhappy about. I tryed to find a great place to pose Kira, but only found this tree stumb. She is posing nicely on it, but the colors of her surroundings does nothing for her. She needs something that looks more cheerful.  

I wanted close ups of my girls. The sun in her face annoyed me, but besides that I think its a nice photo of her. 

I think Kiras close up turned out better though.

I wanted to take a photo that show, that they are good friends. But im not sure this pose is really working for them. 

I think this one, show their friendship better. But the sun was being annoying again. In the end I decided that I liked it that way, because it really reminds me of that late summer feeling. 

By the lake

My plan was to, take alot of outdoor photos of my dolls this summer. But I didnt have that many opportunities to do it ( I dont have my own garden) and when I had the opportunity, the weather was bad or I was too tired and didnt feel like it - it has to feel right. I did get a few good once of my Liv doll Rose, by a small lake near my house. But as I kept hoping to take more pictures, I allso put off showing the once I did take.  

Im really happy with how you can see the water, in the background in this picture - I think it looks quite idyllically.

 

I mostley took this photo to show off her new shoes, and she seems a bit more playful here.

I liked how it looked, that she had the sun in her face - she seems to enjoy it

I wanted a photo of her looking at the water, and I think I did well, capturing her profile. 

I hope I will get more summer pictures of my Liv dolls next year, but im pretty happy with those that I got. 

LEGO Mini cooper

This was a REALLY awsome birthday gift, yet I totally forgeot to talk about it. 
I really wanted this Lego car because its a larger scale, than what they normally use for their sets with typical mini figures. And I thought my Belville dolls, might be the right scale to fit this car. There is no car in the Belville world, and I thought they could really use one. 
I like it because its a nice green color, and its awsome looking with all those great details. 
It looks like such a nice family car. 

There is 1077 bricks in this set, and it took us 2½ hours to build. I build it with help from my boyfriend, and I had alot of fun with it, so time was flying. It was pretty interresting to build this verry detailed car, from the motor to the roof.

When the adult Lego Belville dolls stand besides the car, it loooks like its too big for them.

Yes the roof comes off. 

But the fit INSIDE the car, is a bit too small. The seats are the right size, but there is barely any leg room. so the dolls, have to sit with their legs up to fit. And the steering wheel made it imposible for annyone, to sit in the drivers seat - so I ended up removing it. 

The front seats can be turned forward, so the kids can get out from the backseat. Its a tight squise, but its a verry realistic looking detail. 

The front of the car opens up, so you can take a look at the motor. 

The trunk allso opends, and inside is a picknic basket and blanket.

The little family was verry excited, to go on a picknic together. The bqasket is a little big for them, but it has to be big, in order to hold stuff.

In the basket there are bred, two glasses and two yellow triangles, im quessing those are suppose to be wedges of cheese. I might end up putting some fruit in the basket insetad of the cheese, its a good thing I have alot of LEGO food.

While the kids were playing, the adults enojyed some quality time together. 

I really like this LEGO car. The colors and style of the car is nice + all the details make it look verry realistic. The car is not just pretty, it is allso functional. My Belville dolls can drive around it it and go on family trips, even rhough the size is a bit off.
Now I kinda want the Creator camper..
